The Red Lighthouse dates back to 1786, when the leather workshops of the merchant Shapulin appeared. Then it was a distillery, later - the lead bleaching plant of the merchant Sorokin, renamed in 1922 into the "Red Lighthouse"
In the 1930s, the Krasny Mayak plant was identified as the main manufacturer and developer of electromechanical vibrators. Serial production began in 1936.
According to the results of work for 2009 and 2010. Krasny Mayak was recognized as the "Best Enterprise of the Yaroslavl Region" (the results of the relevant competition are summed up based on state statistics). In 2011, two new types of products of JSC "YAZKM" won the All-Russian competition "One Hundred Best Goods of Russia".
